Home, health and energy performance
Since 2011, FUV has organised seminars for homeowners in response to a significant information gap surrounding building design, renovation and proper use. Drawing on this experience, FUV gradually developed a comprehensive seminar that explains essential scientific and technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
The aim is to help property owners understand what to ask for, what outcomes they should expect and how to assess the quality of work carried out in their home or workplace against meaningful criteria. It also provides the essential knowledge needed to use a building properly in everyday life—a practical guide to living well in a modern building.
The seminar covers the basic principles of building physics, hygiene, wellbeing and energy efficiency, with practical advice and clear explanations for anyone planning a renovation or new-build project, as well as those wishing to use their space more effectively.
FOR PROFESSIONALS
The Professional Airtightness Training Pathway
The professional seminars combine the necessary theory with hands-on training in real-world conditions. They include practical testing using Minneapolis equipment, instruction in assembling the individual components and training in the use of the relevant software. Graduates are entitled to preferential equipment-rental rates, enabling them to conduct tests independently.
The Basic Airtightness Tester Seminar is the starting point of the professional training pathway and a prerequisite for all specialist seminars.
Basic airtightness tester seminar — up to 7,500 m³
Foundation training in the procedures for measuring, assessing and documenting the airtightness of buildings with an internal volume of up to 7,500 m³.
Large-scale airtightness testing — above 7,500 m³
Specialist training in airtightness testing for large buildings using multiple measurement systems. Prior completion of the Basic airtightness tester seminar is required.
Fire-protection airtightness testing
Specialisation in testing the airtightness of fire compartments and in determining the Hold Time. Prior completion of the Basic airtightness tester seminar is required.
Window and Door System
Training in the airtightness testing of installed windows and doors using a dedicated measurement system. Prior completion of the Basic Airtightness Tester Seminar is required.
Ductwork airtightness testing
Training in measuring and assessing the airtightness of ductwork systems. Prior completion of the Basic airtightness tester seminar is required.
